Please read before your child uses LivelyRead (Reading App)
LivelyRead (Reading App) uses artificial intelligence (AI) to help learners aged 3 to 99 learn to read through conversation, pronunciation practice and interactive stories. The Reading App is currently available in Singapore only.
This consent is required for users under the age of 18. Users aged 18 or above do not require parent or guardian consent.
Before you continue, please use your own email address to create this account. We will send a verification link to confirm that you control the email address used to provide this consent.
By continuing, I confirm that:
- I am the parent or legal guardian of the child who will use the Reading App, and the email address used to create this account and give this consent is my own.
- I give permission for my child to use the Reading App and interact with its AI reading tutor.
- I understand that my child will speak to the AI tutor during reading activities. The child's voice and conversation may be processed by the AI service to provide responses during the reading session.
- I understand that the app does not save my child's voice recordings, conversations or transcripts after the reading session, although the AI service provider (OpenAI) may retain this information for a limited period for purposes such as abuse monitoring and security, depending on the API service and data-retention settings used.
- I understand that for reading progress, the Reading App saves only the last page read, so that the user can continue from where they stopped.
- I understand that my child's voice and conversation are processed using OpenAI's AI service in order to provide the reading tutor, and that information necessary to operate the app may also be processed by our cloud service providers. Some processing may take place outside Singapore.
- I understand that OpenAI does not use data submitted through the OpenAI API, including my child's voice, to train or improve its AI models by default.
- I understand that the AI tutor may occasionally make mistakes and that it is not a human teacher.
- I understand that my child's information will be handled as described in the Privacy Policy.
- I understand that I may request access to information held about my child, request correction of information stored by the app, and request deletion of the account and the information stored with it, subject to applicable legal requirements. I understand that withdrawing my consent is done by asking for the account to be deleted, as the Reading App cannot be used without consent.
Parent/Guardian Consent
I confirm that I am the parent or legal guardian of the child who will use this account, that the email address used to create this account is my own, and I consent to my child's use of the Reading App and to the processing of information as described above and in the Privacy Policy, and I agree to the Terms of Service.
