LivelyRead uses artificial intelligence (AI) to help learners aged 3 to 99 learn to read through conversation, pronunciation practice and interactive stories. The app is currently available in Singapore only.

  • The user will speak to the AI tutor during reading activities. Voice and conversation may be processed by the AI service to generate responses during the session.
  • The app does not save voice recordings, conversations or transcripts after a session, although the AI service provider (OpenAI) may temporarily retain this information for a limited period for abuse prevention and security, per its own data-retention policies.
  • For reading progress, the app saves only the last page read, so reading can continue from where it left off. It also keeps account information and records of tutor usage and credits, as described in the Privacy Policy.
  • The AI service is provided using OpenAI technology, and the app is hosted using Google Cloud Platform. Information necessary to provide the reading experience may be transmitted to, and processed by, these providers, including on servers located outside Singapore.
  • By default, OpenAI does not use data submitted through its API, including voice, to train or improve its AI models.
  • Access to, or correction of, stored information may be requested at any time, and so may deletion of the account and its information, subject to applicable legal requirements. Deleting the account is how consent is withdrawn, as the app cannot be used without it.

About Us

LivelyRead was created by a Singapore-based, family-owned software company.

Our team grew up and studied in Singapore, and graduated from the National University of Singapore. Our own experiences with education have taught us something simple: being able to read well opens the door to learning almost everything else.

We created LivelyRead to give children something we wish every child could have — a patient reading tutor who is always ready to listen, help when needed, and answer their questions.

Our goal is simple: help children learn to read, so they can read to learn.
